Hey Reema, thanks. The North East of the country is truely beautiful and enchanting. Vacationing there would be a great idea, I would recommend that you spend a few days in Calcutta, that work your way upto Gangtok and Darjeeling. Of course you may want to wait for the current Gorkhaland agitation to die out and the place to be peaceful again. :) |

Reema, I am not really looking for an argument here, but tell me this - who decided that Hindi was to be the official language? Was there a referendum? Where all Indian states/representative consulted? No. It was a few Hindi speaking people such as Rajendra Prasad et al who got it in through back door. So why should everybody be expected to fall in line? And why should speaking Hindi be necessary to prove my Indian credentials. The southies as you call them have given us the likes of Abdul Kalam, Raja Ramana, Vishweshriah, Subhalaxmi and many others who the nation is proud of even though they didn't know Hindi. Same goes for other non Hindi speaking communities as well.
It is good to have a strong point of view Reema, but not so strong that you can't see another point of view. That goes for me as well :)
Cheers. |
